Join us for our monthly work party where we’ll be getting stuck in with a range of restoration activities such as re-building and re-mortaring walls, vegetation control, putting up signs, re-laying cobbles and repairing fences. Members and non-members are welcome to attend our event, however we ask that you contact us in advance if you plan to attend, so we know how many people to expect and at what time.

Canal Fun Day

Join us for a fun day with the family at the canal with free arts and crafts, eco-stalls and more! No registration needed, just pop down.

Little Leaver Poetry & Local History Event

Join an evening with Oliver Lomax, local poet and Los Angeles Poetry Film Award winner. Enjoy poetry and film commemorating Little Lever’ s history, including the Ladyshaw Owl Pit Disaster ‘The Men Who Became The River’
and ‘Breach’ the 1936 canal breach.

Open Meeting – Marketing the Manchester Ship Canal

Join us for a fascinating talk with Martin Dodge exploring the story of marketing the Manchester Ship Canal and how this iconic waterway was promoted to businesses, investors and the wider public. Discover the campaigns, ambitions and vision that helped establish the canal as a gateway to global trade and a symbol of Manchester’s industrial success. Delivered in partnership with the Inland Waterways Association, this event is open to everyone with an interest in local history, waterways and heritage.
